So I have been making things, but no pictures still! I get my camera tomorrow, but we are moving in the meantime so I'll try to take some pictures next week. BUT! I have ordered some new sewing books which I am excited about! I negotiated with my brother to get them as a Christmas present, so he's paying most of it!
I've ordered all three of these,
I've heard they are all very good and informative, and I'm especially looking forward to the fabric sewing guide as I don't really know anything about different fabrics, I'm pretty instinctual when it comes to buying for a project. I'm not sure if I'm up for the couture just yet, but sometimes I really don't like a finish so I was looking for a book to give me options. Does anyone have these? Found them helpful?
Next up.. trying to get someone to buy me some new thread and fabric for Christmas (hint)!

Squished Witch bookmark
I've seen some pictures around recently of bookmarks that look like the Wicked Witch of the Easts' legs, all squished up between the book (unfortunately I can't remember where on the web), and though it would be a sweet christmas/birthday present for my lovely Irish friend Anna, who is an English graduate. So I set about making and painting some clay witches legs!
I used Jovi clay, and I think next time I work with it I'll try to have a wee bit more patience with smoothing it down and sealing it before I paint. I think the roughness adds a bit of rustic charm to it (cough*notanexcuse*cough). I think it turned out pretty cute, though, and the bookmark portion I painted to look a bit textured and 'old', I guess, also with a small 'Anna' written up the top. I forgot to take a photo, and at the moment I am using the bf's camera, which actually requires some knowledge of light ect, which I do not possess, so I'm finding it tricky to focus the images. Anyway, in a couple of weeks I'll have my point-and-shoot back with me. Yay!

What has Nin made?
To get the ball rolling I thought I would post some pictures of thing I've made previously, mostly for my Etsy shop which I've had no time for in while now. Hopefully you like what you see. Now, time for my morning cup of tea, and even though there is study to do, I think I'll go to Spotlight. - Nin
The first..
I am going to use this blog to record my creative endeavours for the Uni summer holidays (as well as being an endeavour in itself!), just to keep track. Exams are nearly finished, and I am EXCITED(!) about my coming trip to Spotlight and Savers! All this study brings out my creative-ness.. I think its in response to the drudgery.
See you soon!
